About Miguel

Born in Spokane, WA, and raised in the tight-knit community of rural Washington in Othello, Miguel learned the values of hard work, community, and service from his parents. His immigrant father who was a forklift operator at a potato factory, and his mother who was an interpreter at the local elementary school and hospital.

Growing up, Miguel immersed himself in community activities and developed a love for the outdoors. Miguel is driven by a deep passion for healthcare access, affordable education, and robust support for unions.

What propelled his passion into politics was the frustration with politicians who prioritized the interests of the wealthy and powerful. Despite the current challenges and tribulations that we all face in these times which he is not immune from, he feels even more compelled to run for office because there is no other option.

The people of the 4th Legislative District need a tenacious State Senator who will advocate for their rights and freedoms. In this campaign, Miguel's focus is clear – to unite working people from all sides of the aisle and break free from the grip of oligarchs.

Outside of politics, he cherishes moments with his family, enjoys watching TV, and playing the guitar. He is someone who approaches life with lightheartedness, not letting the challenges of life harden his heart which in turn allows him to care deeply about others.
